Delete your Wispyr account and data
Wispyr is an unofficial app that uses the Telegram API, and you sign in to it with your Telegram account. Your account, messages and contacts are stored by Telegram, so deleting them removes them from Telegram and from every app you use with it.
1. Delete your account
- Right away: open my.telegram.org, sign in with your phone number and the code sent to your Telegram app, and choose Delete Account.
- Automatically: in Wispyr, open Settings → Privacy and Security → Delete my account → If away for and choose a period. If you don’t use Wispyr or any other Telegram app during that period, the account is deleted.
Deleting the account permanently removes your messages, media, contacts and profile. How long Telegram keeps anything after that is described in the Telegram Privacy Policy.
2. Delete some data without deleting your account
- Messages and media: long-press a message, tap Delete and choose to delete it for everyone. To remove a whole chat, long-press it in the chat list and tap Delete.
- Synced contacts: open Settings → Privacy and Security → Delete Synced Contacts, and turn off Sync Contacts so they are not uploaded again.
- Data on your phone: everything Wispyr stores on your device is encrypted and is removed when you uninstall the app. Settings → Data and Storage → Storage Usage → Clear Cache removes downloaded media sooner.
3. Data held by the Operator
Wispyr (the “Operator”) holds no account, message or contact data. Access logs of the language pack server and this website are deleted automatically after 30 days. For questions, write to admin@wispyr.app.
